Federal Forest Office

The Federal Forest Office was established in 2005 and belongs to the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism. It employs special trained personnel of the Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW).

It is nominated Competent Authority as well as Official Body for the EU Commission and EU Member States. With regard to the OECD Forest Seed and Plant Scheme, the office is Austria's National Designated Authority.
